Varsity Drops 2 at North Medford Tournament

Beaverton Catcher Janelle Winship put the tag on this South Salem runner, but was called for blocking the plate

Beaverton closed out a 3-game set in the North Medford Tournament on Tuesday with losses to South Salem and Churchill. The Beavers fell behind South Salem early and trailed 9-0 before rallying for 4 runs in the 6th and 7th innings.

In the second game, the Beavers fell behind Churchill 4-0 before a 6th inning rally featuring a 3-run triple by Freshman Megan Spooner. Trailing 4-3, the Beavers moved the tying run to 3rd base in the 7th, but were unable to bring her home.

Beavers Fall to Forest Grove 3-0

The Beavers lost to Forest Grove this afternoon in the Medford tournament 3-0. Megen Ickler pitched for Beaverton. Above, Megan Spooner fields a bunt and prepares to gun the runner out at first.

The Beavers first game this morning against Corvallis was rained out.

McMinnville Escapes Tight Beav Defense, 1-0

Senior Claire Velaski pitched a 2-hitter, but McMinnville scored on a two-out, bottom-of-the-seventh home run and won 1-0 in a pitchers' duel at McMinnville. The Beavers played excellent defense against a top Pac-9 team.

Ickler Perfect in Win Over Pioneers

Sophomore Pitcher Megan Ickler threw a perfect game and struck out 10 in a 1-0 win over Sandy Wednesday.
